Unravelling and weaving, sometimes simultaneously

Plumage

Mockingbird
dancing in the grass

a spring show
for some
ladybird

step step
wingspread
black and white
flash
step step
wingspread
feathers fluttering

in your beak
you hold
a grasshopper
firmly
on display

carefully flaunting it
while you strut

See!

you seem to say

look at me
look at me

I am a great provider!

and

look at me
look at me

I have rhythm!

step step
wingspread
black and white
flash

Who can resist me?

Even with my mouth full
I am made of song!
