Unravelling and weaving, sometimes simultaneously

that’s what you are
you shirtless boy

here’s some butter

let’s see
if it melts
in your mouth

you are too young
to remember
what television
told us
back in the day

that tart woman
in a white dress
flowered wreath
in her hair

thunder booming
at her edict

It’s not nice
to fool
with Mother Nature

Next time
you go shopping
remember the taste
of butter

and stop trying
to push
your margarine ways
on women
who can call lightning
